SolArt Gallery Café was founded in 2004 by Sali Heraldez following her lifelong dream to see her favorite things in life come together under one roof: art, music, and community. Since its inception, the gallery hosted the works of over 50 local artists and along with the sounds 500 local bands.
The gallery closed but continues to work in collaboration with other artists promoting their work and organizations such as El Centro Cultural de México, UCLA Labor Center, OCCCA (Orange County Center for Contemporary Art) Laguna Arts curating art exhibits among other services.
It was decided to create a podcast - SolArt Radio - and keep our goal which is to Promote Solidarity through ALL the Arts. SolArt believes that art and politics are not mutually exclusive and that they are most successful when they are brought together. We believe in the links between artists and community.
The SolArt Radio Hour is transmitted LIVE on Radio Santa Ana 104.7 FM and online www.solartradio.com & www.radiosantaana.org every monday and thursday from 5-6 pm.
SolArt Radio also co-produced El Centro Cultural de Mexico short video documentary.
